Over the past couple of years COD has been working with Packer Engineering in Naperville, the City of Naperville and Argonne National Laboratory on a project called the Green Fuels Depot. The aim of the project is to demonstrate the conversion of yard waste into useful energy in various forms. The project has recently received funding from the Department of Energy to build a pilot plant in Naperville to demonstrate feasibility. We have the funds to support two student workers over the summer semester to work on the Green Fuels Depot. While no specific qualifications are necessary, and indeed the exact nature of the work to be carried out is still somewhat ill-defined, it is preferred that the students are pursuing some kind of career in a STEM field. Please advise your students of this opportunity and have them contact me as soon as possible.
