Description:
The primary role of the computer/network technician is to provide technical support to customers both remotely & onsite. This will typically entail installation, upgrade or replacement of both software and hardware including desktops, laptops, servers, routers, switches, scanners and printers. Additionally the technician will be responsible for responding to client requests, troubleshooting configurations, errors or any other customer technical problems.

The potential successful candidate will possess strong customer relations skills, be highly self-motivated, have a commitment to high quality work, be eager to learn new technologies, willing to grow with the company & dedicated to 100% customer satisfaction.

* Install & configure new equipment
o Desktops

o Antivirus - Trend Micro, Symantec, McAfee
o Backup - CA ArcServe, BackupExec
* Networking skills
o Configuration of static IP
o Understanding of firewall\routers\switches\cabling
* Responding to & troubleshooting client service requests
o Software errors
o Installation problems
o Virus\spyware\malware removal
o Hardware failures
* Tracking & documentation
o Use ticket system to log & track progress and resolution of tasks
o Document work done
o Submit accurate billing of time spent on tasks
* Professionalism & customer satisfaction

Candidate requirements
* Customer service oriented attitude
* 2-5 years proven desktop & network support
* Expert with Windows desktops: 2000/XP/Vista/7
* Experience in an Active Directory environment
* Experience with Novell & Linux systems is a plus
* Expert in configuring client email - some Exchange server experience desirable
* Strong networking skills, both configuration and troubleshooting
* Printer setup & configuration
* Antivirus software installation & virus\malware removal skills
* Experience with backups & restore
* Excellent problem solving & troubleshooting skills
* Excellent time management skills
* Great communication & teamwork
* Valid driver's license & reliable transportation
* Willing to work overtime & weekends as needed
